To work with one or more events in the event list, you
must first select the events. You can then use the options in the Alerts menu
to manipulate the events. You can also deselect one or more events
from a list of selected events.
About this task
Note: You can right-click an event to access
an Alerts pop-up menu. The Alerts menu
is configured by your system administrator.
You can select
single or multiple events in the following ways:
Procedure
- To select one event and deselect all other events, click
the event row.
- To select multiple, nonsequential events, hold down the
Ctrl key and click each event.
- To select multiple, sequential events on UNIX, click to select the first event, hold
down the mouse button, and drag the cursor up or down the list. To
select multiple, sequential events on Windows, hold down the Shift key and then
click to select the first event. Then hold down the mouse button and
drag the cursor up or down the list.
- To select all events, click .
- To select all events that match the value in a particular
field (also known as smart matching) on UNIX, hold down the Shift key and click the
left mouse button over the field to be matched. To select all events
that match the value in a particular field on Windows, hold down Ctrl+Alt and click the
left mouse button over the field to be matched. For
example, to select all events in the UNIX event
list, where the Status field is closed, find an event that displays
the Status field as closed. Move the cursor over that field, hold
down the Shift key and click the left mouse button over the field.
